These are the five phrases Taylor Swift just applied to trademark 2015

In addition to being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Taylor Swift is a savvy businesswoman. Swift, who already trademarked the phrase "this sick beat" is looking to trademark "1989" among other things.

This isn't the first time that Swift has applied to trademark familiar lines from her repertoire. In February, Swift sought trademarks for phrases including "this sick beat," "nice to meet you; where you been" and "party like it's 1989."

Swift may be attempting to trademark her birth year, but that doesn't mean all uses of "1989" will be restricted — just ones related to her album title.. TAS Rights Management filed five applications for each phrase for different classes of goods and services, including clothes, online retail, printed materials, websites and concerts.

That's all for Today.
